Media thinker Marshall McLuhan anniversary celebrated with ABC McLuhan digital station

ABC Radio is to run a series of programs to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Marshall McLuhan, celebrated as the father of modern media studies.

McLuhan is best known for coining the phrase “The medium is the message”.  

The McLuhan Project is being backed with a website which includes a recently unearthed Australian archive interview with the Canadian McLuhan

The McLuhan Project kicks off with a live forum – Hot + Cool: 100 years of Marshall McLuhan – taking place at the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane discussing McLuhan’s legacy. The forum is being held on July 14 and broadcast a week later on ABC National

There will be further programming alongside special event digital radio station ABC McLuhan.
