MediaCom appoints Karleitia Bodlovic as its director of e-commerce

MediaCom has today appointed of Karleitia Bodlovic to the newly-created role of director of e-commerce. This appointment is representative of the agency’s inaugural hire to Blink Consulting in Australia.

Prior to joining MediaCom, Bodlovic has held a suite of client-side roles, most recently head of ecommerce and digital at Damn Good Beauty.

In her new role Bodlovic will work to better connect existing capability across investment, data planning and MediaCom’s specialist division of Creative Systems to bring together media, content, creativity and platform optimisation to accelerate e-commerce growth.

Bodlovic will also be responsible for leading transformation across ecommerce that unlocks growth across marketplaces and direct-to-consumer models incorporating operations, data strategy, technology, and customer acquisition.

Effective immediately, Bodlovic will report directly to Tom Robinson, MediaCom’s managing partner, creative systems.

The new hire comes after OMD Australia chief executive officer, Aimee Buchanan announced she was leaving Omnicom Group for competitor WPP to become GroupM’s new CEO. The role was vacated by Mark Lollback who left the business in March after five years in the position.

Earlier in the year, MediaCom’s AUNZ CEO Willie Pang stepped away from the agency to take a broader role across GroupM as managing director of GroupM Services. In his place, Yaron Farizon, who was previously CEO of MediaCom Russia and MediaCom Connections Israel, became CEO of MediaCom AUNZ, taking up the post since 1 June.

MediaCom’s managing partner, Tom Robinson said: “We’re very lucky to have Karleitia join us as she’s incredibly experienced in the space and is moving into agency life after a career on client side. With that, she’s perfectly placed to understand where clients need support, where growth will come from and what’s missing from agencies.

“Being able to support our clients with some of their most pressing concerns in these areas is a significant differentiator for us as an agency. I’m excited to see Karleitia leverage her experience, knowledge, and skills to inspire innovative and transformative thinking in the service of our clients.”

MediaCom AUNZ, CEO, Yaron Farizon, added: “I am thrilled to have a talent like Karleitia join our team. Establishing an effective e-commerce practice is integral to ensuring we are enabling our clients to ‘See the Bigger Picture’. Throughout the hiring process, Karleitia showed an incredible understanding of the challenges many of our clients face and where agencies can play a great role in driving client growth. I have no doubt having Karleitia’s smarts will impact our client’s growth significantly in this space.”

Bodlovic said of her appointment: “I am incredibly excited to be joining the MediaCom family and have the opportunity to work and collaborate with truly world class talent.  Coming from a career on client side I feel have a great opportunity to bring a different perspective to the table and add to the existing breath of digital capabilities at MediaCom.  I am ready to support our valued clients in their e-commerce journey and start welcoming new opportunities for their ongoing success within the eCommerce space.”

Bodlovic’s hire follows further investment into data and creative integration by MediaCom with the recent appointment of Prajat Khare, managing director data led planning and systems intelligence, and the promotion of Tom Robinson to managing partner of creative systems.

Part of MediaCom and the WPP Consultancy Group, Blink Consulting comprises a global, regional, and local network of consultants.
