Mediacom picks up Australian Radio Network
Mediacom has bounced back from October’s loss of radio network DMG, picking up rival brand The Australian Radio Network.
ARN’s radio brands include Mix Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, Sydney’s WSFM, Gold Melbourne, 4KQ Brisbane, Cruise Adelaide and The Edge in Sydney. ARN previously used Nunn Media.
In what some might take as a reference to DMG’s decision to move its business to UM, Mediacom CEO Toby Jenner said in the announcement: “We’re delighted to be working with ARN, they have taken the time to understand the breadth and depth of the MediaCom offer and the benefits this will bring to their business. We look forward to working with them in partnership against the competition.”
And Jodie Koning, ARN’s newly appointed national marketing director, said: “ARN is currently undergoing its greatest overhaul since its inception; with a massive investment in people, technology, programming and marketing. MediaCom’s intelligence and scale in this market will provide ARN with the right platform to fast track our success next year.”
She added: “I would like to thank Nunn Media for all their hard work on our business over the past few years. The partnership has been a productive one and their diligence and sense of teamwork cannot be faulted.”
Hardly a win. I wonder what spend levels were guaranteed by group m for the business?
