Mediacom wins global Adidas media account
Mediacom has won the global Adidas media account, which has been estimated to be worth AU$406m (US$300m).
The brand’s previous media agency, Carat, had been with the sports brand for 20 years.
The local media spend is believed to be around $2m. Mumbrella understands the local arm of the GroupM-owned agency will be working on the account.
Carat’s loss will inevitably have some impact locally, although the agency declined to comment.
A Mediacom spokesperson told Mumbrella: “Mediacom are pleased to confirm that the agency has been chosen by Adidas for a new global partnership. More details will be available in due course.”
The news comes following Mediacom’s recent Grand Prix win at Cannes for Excellence in Media Planning for its work with Tesco in the UK.
It hasn’t all been good news, however, as FMCG giant Procter & Gamble recently dropped the media agency for Publicis-owned Starcom.
