Screen Shot 2015-03-16 at 10.09.59 AMLifestyle journalist Kirsten Galliott has been named by content agency Medium Rare as editor-in-chief of Qantas’ print and digital publications along with the airline’s Travel Insider website.

The appointment comes shortly after Medium Rare won the contract to publish the Qantas publications from Bauer Media.

Galliott was most recently editor of InStyle Australia where she grew the readership base, increased social media activity and relaunched the publication’s website.

She has also edited Sunday Life magazine and the (Sydney) Magazine.

Medium rare managing director Gerry Reynolds, who launched the firm in collaboration with News Corp’s magazine arm NewsLifeMedia, said: “Kirsten brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role. She is a highly talented, creative and dynamic professional and I very much look forward to working with her as we take Qantas’ publications and Travel Insider to the next level.”

Reynolds left Bauer in mid-2013 and started Medium Rare in July last year along with former head of Bauer Custom Sally Wright after winning the Coles business from the German-owned publisher.
