Melbourne Cup rides into first place as local drama holds just six slots in top 100
The Melbourne Cup has ridden into first place in week 45’s TV ratings.
Placing in the top three slots across metro-only, the Melbourne Cup was co-coded to stretch across the ratings board. The Race took first place, Race Presentation took second and The Mounting Yard came third, according to OzTAM.
The ratings only registers home televisions so the ‘race that stops the nation’ stopped more than the recorded 2.653m, with office and pub TVs left out of the measure.
Only six local dramas made it into the entire top 100, with Underbelly: Razor the highest rating local drama production, placing 8th overall.
