Melbourne Football Club and Zurich Financial Services Australia extend partnership

Zurich Financial Services Australia and the Melbourne Football Club are extending their partnership.

The announcement:

Zurich Financial Services Australia (Zurich) today announced the extension of its partnership with the Melbourne Football Club (MFC) men’s and women’s Australian Football League (AFL) teams for a further three seasons, to the end of the 2026 season.

Zurich has been co-principal partner of MFC since 2018 and in 2020 also became co-principal partner of the club’s women’s team.

Justin Delaney, chief executive officer, Zurich Australia & New Zealand said: “We are proud to extend our partnership with the Melbourne Football Club following six successful years working closely together on a number of important initiatives.”

“Together, we have driven several impactful community initiatives including the launch of ‘Goals for Good’ and support of charitable rounds to raise money for FightMND (motor neurone disease) and the Reach Foundation (youth mental health and wellbeing).”

“Our partnership with the Melbourne Football Club provides a valuable platform for Zurich to connect with our customers, partners, employees and the broader Australian community,” Mr Delaney said.

As part of the partnership, Zurich’s logo will continue to feature on the front of MFC’s men’s and back of the women’s match-day guernseys and team training apparel.

Gary Pert, chief executive officer, Melbourne Football Club said: “Zurich’s unwavering commitment to our Club has been instrumental in our success, and we are excited to continue this journey together.”

“We look forward to the next few years, as we aim to achieve new heights and create unforgettable moments for our members and supporters.”

The partnership with MFC underlines Zurich’s commitment to the AFL and follows the foundation in 2018 of ‘Tackle Your Feelings’ – a free mental health education and awareness training program – by Zurich Insurance, the Z Zurich Foundation, the AFL Coaches Association and the AFL Players’ Association.
