Menulog appoints Connecting Plots as social agency of record

Menulog has appointed Connecting Plots as its social agency of record, following a competitive pitch.

Menulog’s agency roster includes creative agency McCann, media agency UM and the new public relations agency launched by Julia Everingham and Alana Mroz, Finchco.

Menulog has hired Connecting Plots

Menulog marketing director, Simon Cheng, said Connecting Plots stood out in the pitch for its use of emerging social channels.

“We were looking for a partner with strong social-first thinking and during the pitch process, Connecting Plots were a standout. The initial work they presented showed an incredible understanding of our brand, business and ambition and it gave us the confidence in them as a partner to help us achieve this,” Cheng said.

“We were particularly impressed with the work presented for emerging channels, such as Tiktok, as these will be key in driving our strategy to reach and connect with a younger demographic.”

Lewis Steele, who became head of social and content at the agency a year ago, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with such an ambitious and motivated client and broader agency team. Menulog is a true challenger brand that has much to offer, so we’re excited about showing how social can help capitalise on that potential.”

This year, Connecting Plots has also added Tesla, Uncle Tobys, 4 Pines, Brookvale Union and Nestlé Health Sciences.

In staff hires, Connecting Plots has added senior account director Jack Blades to the brand and creative team, creative services manager Mary Morrell, and senior account manager in the social team, Cody Desmond.

Connecting Plots co-founder, Tom Phillips, reflected on the agency’s recent growth.

“It’s rewarding to see our ongoing efforts and investment in emerging capabilities through industry-best hires command the attention of blue chip clients. What stands out amongst the roster of wins is how receptive our clients are to challenging conventional models and doing things differently to achieve meaningful results,” Phillips said.

Mumbrella has contacted the agency about the incumbent on the account.
