Menulog provides a glimpse of Snoop Dogg’s ‘spicy’ version of its jingle

Menulog has released a teaser of an upcoming campaign that will see Snoop Dogg put his spin on the delivery service’ trademark ‘Did somebody say Menulog’ jingle.

In the teaser, Snoop Dog says he was brought in by the brand ‘to put some spice’ on the track.

The video provides some behind the scenes footage of the campaign, which was shot at Snoop Dogg’s compound in LA.

Coming out of the UK for Menulog’s parent company, Just Eat, and created by McCann London, the campaign will be modified to suit the seven different markets it will launch in.

The full campaign will launch in Australia on 7 June and run for a year. UM is undertaking the local media buy.

Simon Cheng, marketing director of Menulog ANZ, said the full version of the ad will be worth the wait for Australians.

“The unquestionable talent, originality, irreverence and mass appeal in the latest Did Somebody Say Menulog does just that. The new, genuine take on the song is unlike anything in-market and so we’ve staggered the local release to give each bit of creative for Menu-Logg the time it deserves,” Cheng said.

“While Australians will have to wait to see the full version, we’re excited to be able to launch the first piece of creative, particularly at a time when Australians can use a bit of entertainment from local brands. Did Somebody Say Menulog will complement a suite of other creative in-market, which focuses on continued support for local restaurants.”

Susan O’Brien, chief marketing officer at Just Eat, praised Snoop Dogg’s spin on the jingle.

“We know our original ‘Did Somebody Say Menulog’ jingle is a bit of an opinion-divider and it led to many a conversation, as people enjoyed their favourite meals. As much as we love it, what better way to step things up a notch than to get the help of a global legend? Snoop answered our call and created a version of the song that got us all smiling. We love that he’s taken something synonymous with the Menulog brand and made it personal to him,” O’Brien said.

The teaser is running on YouTube.
