Menulog reveals its new jingle thanks to Snoop Dogg
After teasing the new campaign last month, Menulog has revealed its new jingle, courtesy of Snoop Dogg.
The TVC takes the shape of a music video for the new track, with Snoop Dogg performing the jingle, alongside a giant burger and waffles, animated pizza and a Menulog delivery driver.
Snoop Dogg said: “People said it could never be done – a Menulog track that you can get down to. The original was a great track but it’s had its run, it needed to upgrade. That’s why they brought me in, to put some spice on it.”
The TVC leads the wider ‘Dogg’s Diner’ campaign which kicked off on Friday, enabling Australians to order from a Snoop-Dogg approved menu of classic American food, from burgers to fried chicken and waffles.
Until 3 July, Australians will be able to order dishes from Snoop Dogg’s cookbook ‘From Crook to Cook’, via the Menulog app.
Dogg’s Diner’s menu also highlights some of Australia’s favourite American-inspired restaurants, including Milky Lane, Down N’ Out, Meet Patty, Chimek and Nordburger.
Simon Cheng, Menulog chief marketing officer, said: “We are excited to celebrate the revamped ‘Did Somebody Say’ jingle with the launch of Dogg’s Diner – at a time when Australians could use a bit of light entertainment and some delicious comfort food. There was no better way to mark our partnership with Snoop Dogg than giving our customers across the country the chance to enjoy some of the Dogg’s best dishes, delivered to their door.”
The campaign also coincides with the reveal of Menulog’s new brand identity, which has swapped its historic green for orange.
The campaign was created by McCann London for Menulog’s parent company, Just Eat, and was being modified to suit the seven markets it was launching in.
This is actually awesome. Was expecting cringe but it bangs!

I think the ad is f*cking great!
Wish more clients would step out and make their TVC’s interesting.

The jingle is better than 99% of mumble rap these days.

Logo looks very familiar..
Also, why the change from green to orange? Menulog green was instantly recognisable. Nothing like Deliveroo colours at all.

What an awesome ad!!! Bangin beat and thoroughly more enjoyable than most of the crap TVCs we are forced to endure on FTA.
Side note: Ten played this 15sec TVC about eight times in a single break last night and I was still nodding my head

Shame the product is terrible, very bad experience/word of mouth

In my opinion this is lazy, expensive advertising.
What is the actual creative idea? Pay an A-list hollywood type to appear in your ad, doing what they do in real life with very little connection to the brand and service offering.
I’m not sure why this is being celebrated.

This is the worst advertisment I have ever seen in Australia can’t you find Aussies too do the add we are not in America we are Aussies and should be promoting Aussies .

What is wrong having Australian ads for Australia.

Never mind the old people who are whining about it not featuring a Aussie or being Australian. It’s very catchy and focuses on the age group who actually use Menulog.

I think they’ve missed the mark. Clearly aimed at black Americans. Were just lazy in repeating it here in Australia. I suppose in their minds Australia wasn’t a big enough market to warrant a customised ad. Additionally, they probably spent so much cash that they felt they had to roll it out globally.

So “black americans” are the only people who enjoy Snoop Dogg’s music, hip hop culture and fast food?
Your comment suggests that you’re a tone deaf, conservative boomer who definitely does not work in marketing.
