Merkle’s Columbus appoints Leonie Dawkins and Guy McGechan as group business directors

In addition, the company announced it will work across various clients already engaging with other DAN agencies.

Columbus, a Merkle Company is claiming nine client wins over the past three months including Macquarie University, Event Hospitality and Entertainment, and Hi Pages.

Vizeum was appointed as Macquaire University’s “marketing and communications agency” in February, and Mumbrella understands Columbus was appointed at the same time to undertake paid search and social for the educational institution.

DAN’s media agency Carat won the media strategy, planning and buying responsibilities for Event Hospitality and Entertainment around the same time, with Columbus also appointed to the paid search element of the account.

Simon Ryan, CEO of Denstu Aegis Network ANZ said: “We’re delighted to welcome nine new clients to Columbus in the first quarter of the year, a testament to the strength of the team. Merkle has brought global scale and extended the capabilities of Columbus, and we look forward to continuing on a strong growth trajectory from here.”

General manager of Columbus in Victoria Marianne McNally said Dawkins and McGechan – who are both joining the leadership team – are exceptional talents.

“Their leadership and digital expertise will help Columbus, a Merkle Company to continue to lead conversations with clients to deliver end-to-end data-driven solutions.”

McGechan joins Columbus from Havas Media, while Dawkins moves across from Carat.
