Comedian Meshel Laurie, Tim Blackwell and Marty Sheargold, who started out on Nova 106.9’s breakfast program in Brisbane in 2010 moved to the national drive time slot after Fitzy and Wippa moved to the Sydney breakfast show in September 2011.Two years on and they have become one of the best performing drive shows in the country, rating the highest in its timeslot in Perth according to the latest Nielsen survey.

Everyone: what advice do you have for someone who wants a career in radio? I mean, Tim, you’ve talked about how you were a radio nerd from when you were a kid, like me; I’ve been at SYN in Melbourne since 2005, but I want to take the next step in my career. What do I do?
Marty: I’ve been a fan of yours since you occasionally guested on Get This with Tony Martin and Ed Kavalee. What do you see as the main differences in culture between the DMG network and the SCA network?
Meshel: you’ve recently had a bit of a break from Twitter, because people were being negative online. What sort of things were people saying, and was there anything in particular that led to your Twitter break?
Everyone: there’s a running joke occasionally on your show revolving around “if you see us without denim skirts, you win $10,000”. Where did that originate from? Please let me in on the in joke!
Everyone: do you have a favourite “bit” on the show? I like Around The Grounds (turn it up Gus) and Showbiz Shigzy.
