Michelle Kulbicki and Sev Griffiths join Ensemble

Parent company Mediabrand’s  branded entertainment arm –  Ensemble –  has made two new hires.

The announcement:

February 18, 2011: Ensemble, the branded entertainment division of Mediabrands Australia, has hired two new staff as revenues rise steeply at the one-year anniversary mark and plans are advanced for the opening of a Melbourne office.

Launched on March 1st last year by founders Justin Ricketts and Tim Hodgson, Ensemble opened its doors with no revenue, but quickly accelerated with appointments including Coles, Microsoft, Panasonic, Streets, Lipton Tea, Merial and Bunnings. The business will have a full time staff of 10 from March 1st this year.

Michelle Kulbicki and Sev Griffiths will join Ensemble from different divisions of Ensemble’s sister company UM. For the past five years Kulbicki has worked on the planning and execution of large scale cross-platform media campaigns for major clients including Microsoft and Panasonic. Griffiths joins Ensemble after the past two years as an investment director at UM focusing on sponsorships and activations and working with media properties including Desperate Housewives, the Australia’s Greatest Athlete series and Junior MasterChef. Her skills include the negotiation and management of large, holistic activations of broadcast sponsorships.

“Michelle and Sev are both experts in brand integration and bring strong experience to our eclectic skill base,” said Ricketts. “We will continue to add talent to the business, but a new important step for us will be opening a Melbourne office and I am recruiting for the office opening now.”

Henry Tajer, executive chairman of Mediabrands Australia, said Ensemble had been a runaway success. “A year ago we were talking to our clients about the potential of large-scale branded entertainment campaigns across media platforms. So we started Ensemble and its work has generated major impact and ROI for clients who have invested in relevant properties. We expect Ensemble’s revenues to accelerate significantly again in the next 12 months,” said Tajer.
