Mike Daniels departs Ogilvy & Mather

Ogilvy & Mather MD Mike Daniels has departed the agency just a few weeks after the arrival of Tom Moult as chairman.  

The announcement:

Sydney, January 28, 2011: Leading Australian agency Ogilvy & Mather today announced the resignation of the Managing Director of its Sydney office, Mike Daniels.

Daniels joined the Sydney-based agency in November 2008. Initially appointed as Planning Director and Managing Partner, he was promoted to Managing Director in March 2010. Prior to joining Ogilvy Sydney, he was Group Strategy Director at Goodby Silverstein & Partners.

Ogilvy Australia’s Executive Chairman, Tom Moult, who joined Ogilvy in early January, said he wished to thank Daniels for his contribution to the agency’s growth over the last two years, and wished him well in his future endeavours.

CEO, Stuart O’Brien would continue to run the Sydney operation while Andrew Baxter runs Ogilvy Group Melbourne including BADJAR Ogilvy.

“During my short time at Ogilvy,” said Moult, “I’ve been enormously impressed by the depth and breadth of the proven management team across Australia. As one of the strongest agency groups in the country, we are well prepared for a bright and challenging 2011.”
