Mindshare staffer goes around the world in 30 years

Mindshare strategist Ivars Krutainis is exhibiting a collections of his photographs at Darlinghurst’s Tap Gallery, opening this evening. Krutainis blogs extensively and was one of Hooroo’s star travellers appointed  to seed the launch of the new platform by blogging and tweeting about his travels.

The announcement:

100 countries under 30

Emerging travel and portrait photographer Ivars Krutainis has travelled to 100 countries (mostly during the last 3 years) to achieve his personal challenge of seeing half the world before turning 30 in July 2012. ‘100 countries under 30’ exhibition is a tale of adventure, commitment and discovery, that lead Ivars along the road less travelled in countries such as Burma, Kosovo, Moldova, Venezuela, Cuba, Oman and others.

Ivars set himself four simple rules:
1) airport visits do not count – it has to be a meaningful visit, spending at least a couple of days in the country, but ideally a week or two;
2) UN member states only (there are 193 of them in total);
3) travel, eat and enjoy life the way locals do – no private jets or Michelin stared restaurants; only public buses and street food instead;
4) take pictures – it’s fun and works as a good back up for the main hard drive (head);

This free exhibition showcases at the TAP Gallery in Darlinghurst from Monday 30 July to Sunday 5 August, 12-6pm daily. The show will feature 100 photos from around the world, painstakingly selected from more that 25,000 photographs taken on this adventure. All these are printed on high quality photo paper and available for purchase with framing services available on request.

The public and media are also invited to attend ‘Meet the artist night’ from 6pm to 8pm, Wednesday 1st August, where Ivars will answer any questions about the project. For more information please visit artists blog: www.krutainis.com
