MKR beats Married At First Sight in overall audience for Wednesday night TV

Seven’s My Kitchen Rules beat rival reality TV show Married At First Sight in overall metro viewers as 1.078m tuned in on Wednesday night.

MKR’s Melbourne duo Roula and Rachael served up overcooked prawns and raw brownies last night making the show MKR the most watched program for the evening.

Despite MKR winning in overall audience, Nine’s Married At First Sight topped the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54) and managed an overall metro audience of 929,000.

Since returning to air, the gap between the two shows has narrowed from 397,000 on Monday to just 149,000 on Wednesday.

According to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings, Ten’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, which also aired during the competitive 7.30pm time slot, attracted an audience of 780,000.

Meanwhile Seven News’ special on the unsolved 1966 disappearance of the Beaumont children, that aired directly after My Kitchen Rules, saw 797,000 metro viewers tune in.

Seven won the evening with an overall audience share of 24.5% beating Nine’s 20.1%, Ten’s 14%, ABC’s 10.7% and SBS’ 5.7% share.
