MKR wins narrowing battle with The Block as Masterchef fades

Monday night was a two-way ratings battle between Seven and Nine with the gap closing between My Kitchen Rules and The Block: All Stars.

The Block rated 1.531m for Nine while MKR rated 1.791m for Seven, according to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTAM.

Seven narrowly won the night on share with 25.9 per cent fo the free to air audience compared to Nine’s 24.7 per cent.

Meanwhile, the only programme that Ten had in the top 20 most watched was Ten News At Five, which rated 694,000. Ten’s share for the night was 8.9 per cent, well behind ABC1’s 15.4 per cent.

Can of Worms rated 407,000 for Ten while Masterchef: The Professionals rated a disappointing 432,000 despite the presence of Curtis Stone.

In the 16-39 demographic, Ten’s best performer was Masterchef, which was 14th in that demo. It was 13th in 18-39.

In the morning battle, Nine’s Today beat Seven’s Sunrise by 374,000 to 327,000, while Seven’s The Morning Show hung on to lead by 178,000 to 150,000.
