Monday misery for Ten as Seven dominates again
Ten’s dreadful start to the ratings week continued on Monday with the network trailling throughout the night with not a single show above 1m.
The poor performance comes after Ten’s Super Sunday also saw significant falls without a single show delivering more than 900,000.
According to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTam, Ten’s only decent performer on Monday was The Biggest Loser which rated 942,000 – the best for the series to date. Ten then declined to 652,000 for Bondi Rescue and 525,000 for NCIS Los Angeles. At 9.30pm Hawaii Five-0 delivered a dreadful 353,000. It was even thrashed by ABC1’s Media Watch which rated 750,000 and Q&A which rated 659,000.
Even in Ten’s heartland younger demographics, Hawaii Five-0 bombed – 23rd for the night in 16-39. Media Watch was 22nd and Q&A 24th.
Monday night’s viewing was dominated by Seven with My Kitchen Rules rating 1.921m and Revenge 1.715m.
Nine’s Big Bang Theory triple bill rated 1.312m, 1.031m and 909,000. US drama Alcatraz rated 711,000.
So far this week Ten appears to have lost momentum. On Sunday Young Talent Time – up against Nine’s Great Barrier Reef – was down to 610,0o0 – down 31% on its performance to date this year. My Kitchen Rules new Sunday episode on Seven also wreaked havoc with the rest of Ten’s schedule with Modern family down 29%, New Girl down 40% and Homeland down 36%.
In the advertiser-focused 25-54 demographic, My Kitchen Rules was first and Revenge second. Big Bang Theory was third and fourth, followed by The Biggest Loser.

It can’t be often that ABC gets a greater overall share than Ten..go ABC.
It is astonishing the gap between Seven and Nine these days, when it was so close a few years ago. I don’t think Nine invested in good prime time shows this year.
I think Ten will be happy when MasterChef comes back on.

worth noting that Masterchef averages an audience of around 1.5million during the series, while MKR seems to be doing significantly better.
