Monday’s ratings a piece of (messy) cake for Masterchef
The only entertainment show that counted on Monday night was Masterchef, with more than 2.2m viewers tuning in for the eviction of contestant Alvin Quah.
No other mid or late evening programme came close to Ten’s Masterchef, with Nine’s Rescue Special Ops falling back below the 1m mark to 917,000. According to preliminary overnight metro figures from OzTam, 2.243m viewers tuned in to see the six remaining Masterchef contestants attempt an eight layer cake.
The final of Masterchef is on Sunday night, although it has emerged that it may clash with the election leaders debate.

Pity MasterChef is pre-recorded. I’m sure there’s a cross-promotional angle there somewhere…
