More OOH talent changes as JCDecaux names new commercial leadership

Out-of-home (OOH) media company JCDecaux has expanded its executive leadership team, promoting Bronwyn Clementson to a newly created role as executive general manager of commercial.

It comes after oOh!media yesterday named outgoing UnLtd CEO Chris Freel to another newly created role as group sales director for Australia.

JCDecaux Australia and New Zealand CEO Steve O’Connor said Clementson’s “rich history, diverse experience and strong partner relationships” made her the perfect candidate for the new role.

Clementson has a collective 14 years of history across the OOH business, first joining APN Outdoor in 2008, prior to the 2018 JCDecaux acquisition. In 2014 she exited the business for a short time, returning a year later as commercial director, and remaining with the business through its sale to the French OOH giant. In 2021, Clementson was promoted to general manager of commercial.

O’Connor continued: “With expertise in digital developments and delivering strong commercial outcomes across airport and transport contracts, experience managing contracts through global disruptions such as the GFC and COVID, and strong relationships with all our major commercial partners, Bronwyn is ideally placed to lead the commercial arm of our business.”

Clementson added that she was looking forward to “leading the accomplished Commercial team and contributing to the continued success of the company, and that of all our commercial partners”.

The appointment comes as chief operating officer Andrew Hines steps down from his role after 30 years. He will remain with the business during the transition period until 30 April 2024.

O’Connor thanked Hines for his “incredible work” at both JCDecaux and APN Outdoor.

“Andy played a leading role in the creation of APNO in 2004 and its integration with JCDecaux when we acquired the business in 2018. He has consistently helped to drive commercial success for our business, building strong and cohesive commercial and operations teams along the way. There are too many achievements to name, but I wish him all the best for his year off and whatever comes next.”
