More redundancies hit Clemenger BBDO
A number of employees at Clemenger BBDO Melbourne have been made redundant, Mumbrella understands. The redundancies include at least one senior role.
The effects of the Clemenger, Chep and Traffik merger are still being felt across the now combined agency. At least five roles have been axed in the past two weeks, although Mumbrella has also heard reports the number could be higher.
Earlier this year, the three agencies consolidated to form the new Clemenger BBDO, led by Chep’s former CEO Lee Leggett.
As a result of the consolidation’s inevitable restructure, several senior leaders have departed in recent months, including Chep’s CCO Gavin McLeod and CSO Lilian Sor, and Clemenger BBDO’s CEO Dani Bassil, CCO Adrián Flores, and chief growth officer Anita Zanesco.
These redundancies follow a small number of layoffs in February, which were due to overlapping roles across the agencies upon merger.
Clemenger BBDO has said there is a “big communications job” to be done as it settles into this new chapter. It declined to comment when approached by Mumbrella on the redundancies.
