More than three million Aussies tuned into Ten’s Formula 1 coverage over the weekend

The Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix was watched by a total audience of 3.2 million viewers, with the race commanding 82.7% of Melbourne viewers under 50.

The 3.2 million figure is the total reach across Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, across free-to-air and BVOD – with streaming up 30% on last year.

The race took an impressive 56.6% share in daytime, reaching  65.2% in under 50s, 64.9% in 25 to 54s, and 63.6% in 16 to 39.

The race was the top-rating sporting event of Sunday, reaching1.55 million total national viewers, with live streaming up 51% on 2023.

In Melbourne, where a record 452,055 people came through the gates between Thursday’s warm-ups and Sunday’s race, Ten commanded 82.7% of viewers in under 50s, 87.6% in 25 to 54s and 80.4% in 16 to 39s.

Mumbrella was on ground Friday, and will publish interviews this week with some of the key players involved in putting the broadcast together.
