Mashable: Schick’s manscaping song doesn’t beat around the bush

“You take the grand tour, but the place is in such bad shape you figure it’s a teardown. In fact, you think it should be red-tagged as uninhabitable and cordoned off with police tape.

Your guy is listening, ladies, and he promises a major renovation. And by that, he means some serious manscaping. This crib, you see, is in his pants.

Schick and its ad agency, JWT New York, have likened a man’s unruly nether regions to a fixer-upper in a new, Flight of the Conchords-esque music video, promising that its Hydro Groomer will help “put your whole house in order.” The four-in-one shaving product, and its overhauling ability, might even bring back a few women who ran screaming from that real estate before. At least, it works that way for the dude in the ad.”

AdWeek: Cam Newton Gets Primal for Beats by Dre, With Help From Kendrick Lamar

“Beats by Dre is back to motivate you, and this time it’s enlisted Cam Newton.

The Carolina Panthers quarterback sweats it out in a new ad for the headphone maker’s wireless offering from R/GA, following in the footsteps of last month’s commercial celebrating LeBron James’s return to Ohio, and this summer’s starring Serena Williams in the wake of her U.S. Open victory.”

AdAge: You’re Probably Going to Want to Sing Along With the ‘Local Heroes’ in This Sweet Ad

“It seems the world hasn’t quite had enough of “Let It Go,” from “Frozen,” yet. Vodafone U.K. has picked the song as the centerpiece of its holiday TV commercial, in which a bunch of essential workers — nurses, farmers, chefs, security guards, airport workers and more — sing along as they watch the movie on their mobile devices. The ad, created by Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R and directed by Pete Riski at Rattling Stick, aims to celebrate “local heroes” who have to work on Christmas Day. A holiday bonus: Vodafone 4G users will be able to watch “Frozen” this year via Sky Movies.”

Mumbrella Asia: Japan is the world’s strongest country brand: FutureBrand study

“Japan is the world’s strongest country brand, according to global perception study by FutureBrand.

Japan emerged on top for the first time of an annual study that in recent years has been led by the likes of Switzerland and Nordic countries.

Australia, ranked eighth, is the only other country from Asia Pacific to feature in a top ten dominated by Europe. Switzerland was second, Germany third, Sweden fourth and Canada fifth.”

The New York Times: In Net Neutrality Push, Internet Giants on the Sidelines

“Silicon Valley’s giant companies have been quiet lately on the question of whether the government should protect an open Internet, which they’ve previously argued is vital to innovation. Don’t count on them staking out a stronger position even though President Obama has stepped into the fray, and Washington looks to be gearing up for an epic battle over the rules that govern the Internet.

On Monday, Mr. Obama offered his support for a strict set of rules that, among other proscriptions, would prohibit broadband carriers from blocking online content, and would restrict them from giving priority access over their lines to companies that pay an extra fee.”

AdWeek: Stressed Out? This Kitten Therapy Office From Tidy Cats Will Cure You With Cuteness

“Kittens are notorious advertising stars, and as it turns out, they’re miniature therapists too.

At least, that’s one takeaway from this stunt in Los Angeles, where Purina Tidy Cats invited stressed-out people into a glass room—fully visible to people on the street—and had them listen to guided meditation.

And then … the kittens are unleashed. And adorable overload ensues.”
