Mortar Group has merged with Firehouse Technology to create Mortar Tech, strengthening its global footprint and expanding its capacity to deliver proprietary technology solutions worldwide.
The announcement:
Mortar Group, the performance intelligence platform for modern marketers, has merged with Firehouse Technology, the Adelaide-based development business, to create Mortar Tech.
The merger and launch of Mortar Tech further strengthens Mortar’s expanding global footprint, positioning the company as a strategic partner with the accelerated capacity to develop transformative proprietary technology solutions for partners across the world.
While Mortar has continually invested in its own development teams, the addition of Firehouse dramatically expands the scope of what the group can now deliver. Mortar Tech will design, build, and scale proprietary platforms, digital products, and advanced tools that enhance Mortar’s measurement-to-execution capabilities.
Firehouse, which has a significant operations hub in Sri Lanka, has a proven model of high-performance technology development. Under the leadership of Nilan Mihindukulasooriya and Nisal Karunathilaka, it has delivered projects across industries and geographies since launching in 2020, building a reputation for turning complex briefs into working solutions at speed. The dual presence in Adelaide and Sri Lanka has enabled Firehouse to combine entrepreneurial agility with deep technical expertise, providing clients innovation and cost-efficient delivery.
Mortar Tech will enable the group to move beyond advising and executing into inventing and building, bringing strategy, creativity, and engineering under one roof, to become a fully integrated partner with the ability to deliver end-to-end digital transformation.
James Zipeure, group CEO of Mortar Group, said: “Mortar had already built a strong development foundation, but Firehouse changes our scale entirely. Mortar Tech is where everything connects, strategy, creative thinking, and engineering execution, all working together in one flow. That makes us faster, sharper, and more ambitious in what we can deliver. This merger and launch will help redefine our capabilities.”
Nilan Mihindukulasooriya, managing director of Firehouse Technology, added: “Firehouse has always been about taking bold ideas and turning them into reality for a range of enterprise clients. By merging with Mortar, we now have the platform to push that vision further. Mortar Tech will be where our engineering talent meets Mortar’s global ambition, creating products and solutions that can reshape markets. It’s about scale, but it’s also about ambition, and together we have both.”
The launch of Mortar Tech comes as the group recently opened its first international office in Singapore, overseeing strategy, delivery, and market development across major markets including Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, and India, with Shane Mitchell appointed to lead Mortar’s Asia business as APAC strategy director. In early September, Paul Sigaloff, former chief revenue and growth officer at oOh!media and APAC head of Yahoo was appointed as global chief customer officer, a role created to accelerate the company’s global growth and deepen its customer-first mission.
Mortar is an independent, privacy-safe measurement platform that unifies MMM, incrementally testing, and digital tracking. It’s platform is currently being used by clients across the retail, automotive, and FMCG sectors to connect data systems including CRM, CDP, and advertising platforms.
