Mortgage app Uno launches with campaign showing off the ‘semi-open house’

Digital mortgage service Uno has launched in Australia with a campaign showing home buyers what it would be like if open house inspections were as secretive as some brokers are when it comes to revealing the full spectrum of available home loan rates.

unoSydney agency Archibald Williams created the campaign which will roll out online and through social media channels featuring a real estate agent who refuses to open all the rooms of a house for inspection.

The ‘fly on the wall’ approach shows home buyers incredulous at the suggestion that they cannot see the whole home, with the agent saying he was saving them time.

The ad ends with the line, “you wouldn’t buy a home without seeing everything, at Uno Home Loans we’ll show you rates you may not be seeing”.

Uno chief marketing officer, Kirsty Davison, said the work aimed to demonstrate how some mortgage brokers operated.

“The goal of this campaign is to help people looking for a home loan to realise that there may be better loans that they may not be seeing when they talk to just one lender or a traditional broker – and that Uno is completely transparent in displaying all products available to a customer from our panel of lenders,” Davison said.

Matt Gilmour, executive creative director at Archibald Williams, said the ad grew out of research that showed people were unsure if they were always seeing the best offers when speaking with brokers and banks.

“We want to help Uno shake things up by talking about the transparency that Uno is bringing into the whole process – giving the power to the people,” Gilmour said.
