You let Adam off lightly Tim!
Only speak the truth ‘when it matters’ according to Adam. It it scary times when ad agencies determine when the truth matters.
And then when he pulled the politician’s get out clause by prefacing an answer with the statement that it is a hackneyed topic (the girl in the jacket).
I wish that as advertisers we could admit when we fuck up and just say sorry.

Nothing to be sorry about, and there will always be subjectivity between what’s truth, authenticity and playful fantasy.
I, for one, am glad there are people like Adam Ferrier around (yes, in a previous life I enlisted Naked to work on strategy, but I’ve never met him) to offer their insight and intelligence into the debate.
We’re all going to make push too far over the line at some point. If we don’t then we’re not being daring enough.
Another insightful Mumbo Report Tim. Keep ’em coming and get Max talking Rocky Road

I cannot wait for the Max Markson lecture on morals and ethics…its the devil at the pulpit!

I want to ask Adam the question based on his statement that “we pass it onto our mates”. Fair point – if you have mates. I don’t, so I came at this from a unique perspective. Adam, what are the consequences for a brand when I pass on the message to people I hate, who in turn, hate me? Think of the worst hate vortex you can think of, and inject a Cherry Ripe jingle into this inferno. What is the impact on Cheery Ripe sales at your local Caltex service station?

“Hopefully they’ll find her body before her cats eat her…” – Tim, that’s gross. Funny. But gross.
