Mumbrella Awards 2021 launches with winners to be revealed at a gala dinner

The Mumbrella Awards will return in 2021 with the gala dinner announcing the winners set to return at The Star in Sydney.

There are 31 categories in this year’s awards with the majority remaining the same as the previous year.

The 2021 Mumbrella Awards will be held at The Star in Sydney.

One significant difference to the 2021 awards is to the category of Creative Agency of the Year. A change to the criteria now means that entry is available by office or by network, depending on how the P&L is structured.

In addition, there is a new award to recognise sustained efforts from the industry when it comes to sustainability. The Mumbrella Award for Sustainable Practices will award a brand or agency making significant effort to become more sustainable and encourage its staff, clients or partners to do the same.

Live judging this year will again be held virtually, with shortlisted entries joining a video call with the category judges.

Comedian Cal Wilson hosted the Mumbrella Awards in 2019.

Among the big winners last year were BMF, winning Creative Agency of the Year, PHD winning Media Agency of the Year, and Thinkerbell taking home PR Agency of the Year. Chris Savage received Industry Leader of the Year, while Henry Innis of Mutiny was awarded the Under-30 Achiever of the Year.

Entries close 9 April with judging set to take place on 24 June and the gala dinner on 29 July.
