Mumbrella Awards 2021 shifted to a virtual ceremony, remains on 29 July
The Mumbrella Awards for 2021 will be held as a virtual ceremony in light of the current COVID-19 restrictions in Sydney.
Remaining on 29 July but now starting at 4pm AEST, the awards will run for around 45 minutes and be streamed live. They will be free to view for anyone who wants to watch.
This year’s format will follow a similar one to that of 2020, which was streamed virtually and hosted by media personality Ash London and Mumbrella head of content Damian Francis.

The 2021 Mumbrella Awards will be run virtually
Winners will be sent their trophies directly.
“It’s unfortunate that we have to run the Mumbrella Awards virtually again in 2021, but for the safety of our attendees, staff, sponsors and suppliers, we are confident that this is the right call,” said Francis.
“Our virtual ceremony last year proved that it still works well and gives the industry something to get excited about. I’m sure this year will be even better with a very high quality shortlist and the learnings that we took from running the awards virtually last year.
“Of course, we look forward to being able to run the event in-person next year. I’d like to particularly thank the more than 110 judges that helped make this year’s event possible.”
