Mumbrella CommsCon returns in-person for 2021 with Red Havas, The Body Shop & Volkswagen Group confirmed

Mumbrella CommsCon will return in 2021 after a year off due to COVID-19 with industry leaders from Red Havas, One Green Bean, The Body Shop and Volkswagen Group, already confirmed to speak.

Presenting exclusive research for the first time in public, Red Havas national head of strategy Alex Erasmus will reveal the Australia-specific findings of the 2021 Meaningful Brands study.

Mumbrella CommsCon 2021 will take place on 27 May at Doltone House

Surveying 1,800 brands in 31 countries, Erasmus will share what the 350,000 respondents – including 10,000 in Australia – had to say on issues surrounding brand performance and buying power.

He will also reveal how brands can leverage consumer perception, what makes brands meaningful, what brands can do to be more meaningful and what percentage of content is failing to deliver and why.

Meanwhile, Kurt MGuiness, PR and brand manager for Volkswagen Group, will look back on how the company evolved its communications methodology in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the session, McGuiness, himself a former journalist as well as an experienced agency executive, will explain how he led the change in the brand’s media relations strategy and the effect it is having into 2021 as the group embraces a new way of communicating and as the automotive industry strengthens despite the challenges.

Returning as a physical event featuring two streams, Mumbrella CommsCon will take place on 27 May at Doltone House – Darling Island Wharf, Sydney. Limited tickets are available due to current event spacing regulations.

Additional speakers and sessions will be announced in the coming weeks.

The conference will be followed by the Mumbrella CommsCon Awards in the evening at the same venue.
