Mumbrella launches Automotive Marketing Virtual Summit with Volkswagen, GPC and more joining speaker line-up

The Mumbrella Automotive Marketing Virtual Summit will run on October 1, 2020. Senior industry leaders from Volkswagen Group, GPC (parent of Repco, NAPA, and more) and Destination are the initial brands confirmed for the half-day summit which will take place entirely online.

GPC’s Di Cecco will talk through the recent media agency switch

Returning to speak is GPC Asia Pacific general manager of marketing, Diana Di Cecco, who was recently in the headlines when the business shifted its media account to Initiative.

In a detailed session, Di Cecco will discuss the process of the media agency shift, including what the major considerations are for an automotive brand when it comes to its marketing strategy and how those permeate into guidelines when searching for an agency partner.

McOrist will discuss extreme disruption and reveal market trends impacting the industry

Joining Di Cecco in the line up is Destination director of strategy, Sam McOrist, who will outline the market trends when it comes to extreme disruption in the automotive industry.

In a two-part research study exploring the trends set to influence the future of mobility, Australian firm Destination, alongside RMIT University professor of marketing, Francis Farrelly, closely analysed looming industry changes and what they mean for marketing, leadership strategy and the industry’s capabilities.

The session will look closely at a number of market trends to help illustrate what the future may hold for the industry.

Also speaking is Volkswagen Group Australia PR and brand experience manager, Kurt McGuiness. In his session, McGuiness will delve into the new storytelling economy and how Volkswagen Group Australia has changed its way of thinking when it comes to evaluating corporate storytelling and applying it to automotive marketing strategy.

He will also share his tips for keeping consumers engaged while protecting the role of the fourth estate.
