Mumbrella Publish Awards 2021 now open

Entry is open for the Mumbrella Publish Awards, the publishing industry’s longest-running publishing awards program.

Now in its 25th year, the Awards which were initially run by Publishers Australia, recognise and celebrate the best work and talent in the industry, and will return to a physical event with a gala dinner on 9 September.

Twenty-nine categories are available for entry. The Best Podcast award has been updated and expanded to acknowledge the best single podcast episode as well as the best podcast series.

In addition, the awards include the Best Sustained COVID-19 Initiative, to recognise the continued efforts and challenges made in response to the pandemic, and that remain as part of the business at the time of entry.

Last year youth publisher Pedestrian picked up three awards, including Brand of the Year, Best Publisher-Led Advertising Campaign and Branded Content Studio of the Year, along with a Highly Commended nod for Event of the Year. Pip Media and Time Out Australia were awarded Publishing Company of the Year, in the Small and Large categories respectively, while Medium Rare Content Agency won Designer of the Year, Columnist of the Year, Salesperson/Team of the Year, Custom Publication of the Year, and received a Highly Commended for Business Publication of the Year.

The judging and shortlisting process of the Publish Awards this year return to a physical undertaking. This includes resuming acceptance of printed and hard copy magazines to support entries, which was temporarily halted for 2020.

Entries are open now with the first entry deadline on 2 July.
