Mumbrella to hold Sports Marketing Summit at the MCG with leading industry executives

Mumbrella is bringing together top executives from the media, marketing and sporting world at a one-day sports marketing conference to be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Key topics for discussion will include case studies in crisis communications, the future of sports broadcasting, sports rights, sponsorships, the role of women’s sports in the marketing mix, and the impact of the recent FIFA scandal.

The day will kick off with leading media measurement firm Nielsen presenting new data analysing changes in sports audiences on TV over the past few years and the shifts in sponsorship dollars.

The speaker line-up will include Kurt Burnette, chief revenue officer at Seven West Media; Stuart Taggart, founder of futurist sports business Relevant Innovation and the FFA’s former head of bid operations; Ian Paterson managing director of Channel 9 Melbourne; and Andrew Woodward, marketing consultant and former GM marketing communications for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

There will also be executives representing some of Australia’s biggest sporting codes, including the AFL, NRL, Cricket Australia, Football Federation Australia and the Australian Rugby Union.
