Mumbrella to launch neXt conference aimed at developing the new generation of industry talent
Mumbrella is to expand on its Mumbrella Next Awards with a half-day conference designed to help those taking the first few steps of their careers.
Among the speakers already confirmed for the Mumbrella neXt conference is CHE Proximity CEO Chris Howatson who will lift the hood on his career and reveal how he entered the industry, his approach to learning, what he knows now that he wish he knew when he started, what he looks for in new talent and more.
CHEP is currently Mumbrella’s creative agency of the year, while Howatson is one of the youngest leaders of a major Australian agency.
Mumbrella has also today launched the call for entries for the return of the Mumbrella Next Awards, with an expanded number of categories.
Targeted at providing up-and-coming talent with the skills they need to fast track their success, Mumbrella neXt will feature a lineup of award winning senior executives that will focus on the most important capabilities required for a successful career in the media and marketing industry.
Joining Howatson is personal development specialist and executive coach, Janey Francis. She will lead an interactive session on emotional intelligence, understanding yourself, your impact on others and the psychology of groups.
Francis’ presentation will illustrate how to make the most out of working with others, and break out of self-limiting patterns in order to approach problems and planning more effectively. It will also touch on successful communication techniques and group dynamics.
And group creative director at TBWA and Eleven PR, Russ Tucker, will reveal the ways to create and amplify a good idea.
Throughout his session Tucker will explore the key questions that lead to a good idea, share practical ways to turn up the heat on ideas and unpack some of the key triggers that will make it more powerful.
