Mumbrellacast: Nine synergises, WPP restructures and Ten caves on Boss
It’s the last week before the industry goes quiet for the summer break, but that hasn’t stopped the news cycle turning at a rapid pace.
This week was Nine’s first trading on Fairfax media assets, and there were a few changes afoot. Nine consolidated Allure into Pedestrian, with several jobs affected, including CEO Jason Scott.
WPP also announced a global restructure of its agencies worldwide, including disposing with under-performing businesses and “right-sizing”, or, as Tim describes it: “self-small-making”.
We also debate Hungry Jack’s’ latest ad, and figure out where it all went wrong for Ten Boss.
Our guest this week is our very own Vivienne Kelly, who is here to provide the lowdown on Mumbrella’s State of the Industry survey. From transparency to work / life balance, the survey revealed a lot about how the industry sees itself.
We also chatted about our collective attitudes to drinking, and how venues charging ‘on consumption’ might be part of the problem.
