Murder trumps love for Monday night

Seven’s City Homicide contributed to a clear ratings victory for the network last night, winning the 8:30 timeslot against The Farmer Wants a Wife and Good News Week.

The programme, which involved the murder of a toddler, drew in just over 1.3 million and was the third most watched show of the night, according to preliminary OzTam data. The Farmer Wants a Wife on Nine was watched by just under 1.2 million and Good News Week on Ten just scraped over the 1 million viewer mark.

Seven took the top four programmes for the evening with Seven News the most watched with 1.7 million. Deal or No Deal also contributed to the ratings success with a clear win of 885,000 viewers over Nine’s Hot Seat with 774,000.

Monday night’s share: Seven 29.5%, Nine 26.4%, Ten 20.8%, ABC 17%, SBS 6.3%.
