My Kitchen Rules versus New South Wales Police

If there are two things the NSW Police Force is no stranger to it’s a bold social media strategy and ridiculous excuses for speeding tickets. So it was no surprise that a warning was posted to the official NSW Police Force Facebook page reading “Saying “MAFS is on at 7:30!” won’t get you out of a speeding ticket tonight. Slow down.”

The post has garnered 3.3k comments and 372 shares in the 19 hours it has been live, but one commenter in particular caught Dr Mumbo’s attention.

Like watching a car crash….

While it was clear the NSW Police Force had picked their side in the 7:30 timeslot TV wars, Seven’s My Kitchen Rules wasn’t going down without a fight, choosing to wade into the debate with ‘*MKR is on at 7.30*’, accompanied by a sly emoji.

Dr Mumbo applauds the hutzpah of MKR’s social media manager, but perhaps the blowback could have been expected, given last night’s third episode of the season drew just 402,000 metro viewers, beaten in the timeslot by all other main channels, including SBS.

Speaking of SBS, who knew Great Australian Railway Journeys had such a diehard fanbase?

Dr Mumbo suggests everybody stays safe on the roads, no matter what programming they’re rushing home to. He also hopes Ten can see the writing on the wall and don’t feel the need to add their own two cents to this debate.
