Omnicom Media Group has made managing director of Hearts & Science, Wendy Gower redundant as it looks to undergo a local restructure.

Gower told Mumbrella she left the agency three weeks ago after being made redundant, as she said “they’re restructuring”, but had no further details on what was happening.

Wendy Gower leaves Hearts & Science.

CEO of the agency, Jane Stanley confirmed the move to Mumbrella, saying the agency thanked Gower “for the contribution she’s made to Hearts & Science and the broader Omnicom Media Group”.

Stanley added the agency is in the process of communicating the new structure at the moment, and it will share it externally after doing so with its Hearts team, clients and partners.

“However, we have a strong and inspired senior leadership team, who will continue to deliver exceptional results. We are excited about the future and our focus on building media solutions that harnessing data, technology & innovation.”

Stanley was promoted to ANZ CEO this year

Gower said she is looking at opportunities in the market right now, adding several opportunities had surfaced since leaving, and that she will be staying in the communications industry, as she is excited about what is to come next.

OMG launched the brand in Australia in 2019, retiring m2m in the process locally following the success of Hearts & Science in overseas markets. Gower was managing director of m2m Sydney at the time, and continued in the role in the new incarnation of the agency.

Earlier this year, Stanley was promoted to the role of CEO of Australia and New Zealand.

In a report from the end of 2021, Hearts & Science’s annual billings were listed above $250 million.
