Naked closes New Zealand operation
Naked Communications is shutting up shop in New Zealand.
The closure will enable the agency to focus on its Sydney and Melbourne offices, agency chairman Mike Wilson has said.
Naked New Zealand has five staff, led by managing partner Matt O’Sullivan. According to Campaign Brief, O’Sullivan has plans to set up his own agency and service previous Naked clients.
Naked works for Coke in New Zealand as part of a regional alignment, but lost key client Fonterra at the beginning of last year. It has two other clients, including Unitec.
The new emerges on the same day that Naked’s owner Enero – formerly known as Photon – launched a new company, Enero Data Sciences.
It comes a month after Enero reported to the ASX that Naked, and creative agency BMF – the group’s most prized assets – were the main reasons for Enero’s weak performance in the second half of the last year, with a loss of $77m.
That’s a shame – some good people at naked NZ
