Naomi Beames joins Telstra as principal of corporate affairs and sustainability

Naomi Beames has joined telecommunications company Telstra as its principal of corporate affairs and sustainability.

Beames is joining Telstra from her previous role as a director of communication and stakeholder engagement at the Department of Planning and Environment.

Prior to her stint at the government department, Beames was the manager of internal communications at Roads and Maritime Services for the NSW government.

Beames said in a statement to Mumbrella: “I am delighted to join Telstra. The communications team is such a strong, professional outfit and the innovative technology is leading edge. There is no place I would rather be right now with the emergence of 5G this year.”

The appointment comes nearly one year after Telstra appointed Attention + Influence and WPP to its PR account.
