Nate Byrne is set to join the ABC News Breakfast line-up in the role of weather presenter.

The announcement:

Nate Byrne reports to ABC News Breakfast
Monday, February 27, 2017 — Meteorologist and Royal Australian Navy Lieutenant Nate Byrne will join the ABC News Breakfast line-up, taking on the role of Weather Presenter from Monday, 13 March.

Mitch Fifield won’t know what to do!

First celebrate that he has an ex-Navy man in the ABC (that’ll learn ’em!)

Or reel in horror at the thought of “communicating the science behind climate phenomena to viewers”, something that his party has spent a decade in denying.

Either way, I smell funding cuts.
