Nature’s Own and The Good Guys sign on to sponsor Nine’s The Block
Nature’s Own and The Good Guys have signed on to sponsor Channel Nine’s home renovation program The Block, as previous sponsors Mitre 10 and NAB continue their sponsorship of the program.
The announcement:
The Block, 2013’s number one program in all target demographics, returns next Monday night with four partners and two sponsors committed to the Fans v Faves series, Nine Entertainment Co. Group Sales & Marketing Director, Peter Wiltshire, announced today.
In announcing the partnerships Mr Wilshire said: “The Block remains the standout vehicle for clients to build their brand. Last year’s Sky High delivered 1.4 million viewers for 56 engaging episodes and whopping 3.2 million for The Winner Announced.”
Sarah Stewart, Nine’s Head of Content & Brand Integration, said: “The market has always responded positively to The Block, but this season, with all our partners and sponsors activating The Block IP, it’s a really clear demonstration that the market truly understands the power of the format to connect consumers with their brand.”
Mitre 10 is back on board for a fifth season, offering the Blockheads a mighty helpful hand with all their building needs, while Suzuki is again driving The Block as Scott Cam gives away his transport throughout the series to a home viewer, an increasingly “pimped out” Suzuki S-Cross.
NAB is back on board – this time with the help of Keith The Foreman. Blockheads can dob people in for DIY delaying and Keith will encourage them to “get doing”.
New partner Nature’s Own will track one couple’s physical and emotional performance across the series as they deal with all the ups and downs The Block throws at them.
And sponsoring The Block for the first time, The Good Guys will provide contestants with designer kitchens, electrical products and bonus prizes, while iSelect provides our couples with the chance to spin and win big on the weekly iSelect prize wheel.
With Fans v Faves, The Block is now in its eighth season and a vacant shell awaits our Blockheads as they are tasked with converting the old Dux Theatre in Melbourne’s Albert Park into four three-bedroom, loft-style apartments – but in the toughest challenge ever set, there are no internal walls, no floors, no roof and no plumbing!
Coinciding with the broadcast of The Block: Fans v Faves is the launch of the new Block website, http://theblock.com.au. Key features include all of the latest Block episodes and updates; 360 degree room tours, room reveal galleries and Viewer’s Choice Polls. Furthermore, no matter what device (PC,
mobile or tablet) viewers will have an enhanced user experience as the new site is fully responsive. The Block: Fans v Faves, which premieres Monday, January 27, at 7.30pm, is based on an original format by Julian Cress and David Barbour in conjunction with the Nine Network. Season nine of The Block will premiere on the Nine Network later in 2014.
