NBN promo video under the hammer
A video to promote the National Broadband Network came under fire today, with the Daily Telegraph picking on the $550,000 budget spent on making the ad, which was created by Clemenger BBDO Melbourne for the federal government.

Clems Melbourne won the business a year ago after a pitch involving three other agencies.
In the Telegraph article, Malcolm Turnbull, the opposition communications and broadband spokesman, was quoted to have said: “They [the government] have squandered billions and are now chasing their sunk investment with even more money to produce glossy advertising campaigns.”
The video is to run in libraries and councils, and will be used at conferences to sell the NBN’s benefits.
At least the conversation is being shifted away from the cost to the benefit.
