NDM promotes Danny Bass

News Digital Media has promoted Danny Bass to the role of national sales director.

The announcement:

News Digital Media’s commercial director, Tony Prentice, today announced the appointment of Danny Bass as the company’s national sales director.

Currently NDM’s NSW sales director, Mr Bass starts in his new role on July 1 and will report to Mr Prentice.

Mr Prentice said that Mr Bass’ promotion was richly deserved and that NDM’s clients and customers would benefit greatly from him taking on a broader role.

“Danny is one of the most highly regarded online sales practitioners in the market and is held in the highest esteem both inside and outside of the company.

“Quite simply, if you want to navigate the complexities of online advertising and put together the most effective campaign possible, you want Danny in the room.”

Mr Bass said “It has been a privilege to be part of News Limited’s digital journey from the earliest days of News Interactive, particularly over the past few years as we have significantly outgrown the market and increased our market share.

“We now have a portfolio of category leading brands which allows us to answer briefs in a creative and innovative way. As a result we’ve seen strong bookings and high sell through rates across numerous sections of our network.

“Premium content environments are only going to become more valuable, which means that NDM’s network will undoubtedly be the best place for brands to live.”

Mr Bass has more than 15 years experience in print and digital media sales.

He began his career in the UK in print media, working for United Provincial Media before joining the Guardian Media Group.

In 1999, he moved to Australia to launch the local edition of Auto-Trader. Between 2000 and 2004 he held account management and sales strategy roles at News Interactive (now News Digital Media).

Mr Bass then spent a year at The Australian newspaper as national sales manager – classifieds, before re-joining News Digital Media as NSW sales director in 2005.
