ANZ brings in Hatzis to head brand and sponsorship

ANZ has brought in Westpac’s Kathy Hatzis to take on the role of head of brand and sponsorship, Australia.

The annoucement:

ANZ today announced the appointment of Kathy Hatzis as Head of Brand and Sponsorship, Australia.

Ms Hatzis will report to David Lindberg, Managing Director, Strategy and Marketing. She will commence at ANZ on 28 June and will be relocating with her family from Sydney to Melbourne.

Ms Hatzis joins us from Westpac where she was Head of Multi-Brand Strategy and Architecture overseeing the five master brands of Westpac, St George, RAMS, BT and BankSA. She joined St George in 2005 where her responsibilities included managing the marketing planning for the St George/Westpac merger. Prior to this, Ms Hatzis was with Optus for more than ten years where she also worked across a number of customer experience and customer acquisition marketing roles. Ms Hatzis was named the Australian Association of National Advertisers Young Marketer of the Year 2007.

The appointment follows an extensive global search and Louise Eyres taking the role of Group General Manager, Brand. Louise has been performing both roles for the past 18 months as part of the launch of ANZ’s new global brand.

Commenting on the appointment Mr Lindberg said: “Kathy’s appointment is a significant addition to ANZ’s marketing team in Australia. She has an outstanding track record in marketing, particularly in banking and executing multi-brand strategies.

“Her leadership will play an important part in continuing to build ANZ’s brand identity in Australia. I’m thrilled to have someone of Kathy’s calibre join ANZ,” Mr Lindberg said.
