Neighbours finale tops programming while Nine takes overall share

Last night’s airing of the final ever episode of Australian soap Neighbours on Ten topped overall programing for Thursday evening, however the Nine Network remained in the top spot for overall share.

The finale episode brought in 873,000 metro viewers and topped all three key advertising demos, followed in entertainment by Seven’s The Chase Australia, which brought in 485,000 metro viewers.

 

Next in entertainment was Nine’s Hot Seat with 470,000 metro viewers, then Seven’s Home and Away on 429,000 metro viewers, and The Front Bar on Seven bringing in 375,000 metro viewers.

In sport, Nine’s Thursday Night NRL brought in a metro audience of 354,000 viewers, while ABC special A Wild Ride: 30 Years of Foreign Correspondent brought in 347,000 metro viewers.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 21 July, Seven News was the top program nationally across linear, with 1.523 million viewers, including 39,000 on BVOD, and uplift of 3%. The program with the greatest uplift in the top 20 programs was an episode of Home and Away on Seven with an uplift of 28%, watched by 800,000 total TV viewers, and 127,000 on BVOD.

Nine News was the #1 news program on Tuesday with 855,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven News with 834,000 metro viewers. Seven News at 6:30 was next with 833,000 metro viewers, and Nine News at 6:30 brought in 832,000 metro viewers, while A Current Affair had 624,000 metro viewers.

ABC News saw 597,000 tune in, and ABC’s 7:30 News had 484,000 viewers in all five major capital cities.

As mentioned, in overall network share for Thursday, Nine won the night with a 26.7% network share ahead of Seven’s 24.8%, Ten finished with a 24% share, while ABC had an 16.1% share.
