Neighbours moves to Eleven
Ten’s iconic serial Neighbours will move to the network’s new digital channel, Eleven.
“We believe Neighbours is perfectly suited to Eleven’s audience strategy,” said chief programming officer David Mott.
Neighbours is the first local production – made by FremantleMedia – set to move to the new digital channel Eleven, where it will be joined by another long-running shows, the American animated series The Simpsons.
The move is part of the audience strategy for the new channel, which will begin transmission in standard definition in early 2011 and target a younger 13-29 demographic – allowing Ten to widen its spectrum from 18 to 49.
