Never is a long time (or 22 months in Tim Blair’s case)
Prolific Daily Telegraph commentator Tim Blair certainly knows his media.
As regular readers will be aware, ABC boss Mark Scott confirmed last week that he will be launching a 24 hour news channel.
It was a topic Blair touched upon nearly two years ago when Scott said: “If Sky News can deliver a 24-hour news service with a fraction of the number of journalists working in ABC newsrooms, then it stands to follow that the ABC is capable of producing a 24/7 news service for our audiences: we just need to work smarter to deliver it.”
Blair’s detailed analysis ran to two words:
“Won’t happen.”
