New BMF boss is Dominic Stinton
Ad agency BMF’s new CEO will be advertising and marketing veteran Dominic Stinton, Mumbrella can reveal.
Stinton’s career experience has included the UK and Asia.
He worked at BBH, seen by many as one of the world’s greatest agencies, in both its London and Singapore offices. He also worked at HHCL as managing partner working with big British brands including Pot Noodle.
BMF co-founders Matt Melhuish and Warren Brown also worked at BBH.
And at VCCP he worked as group managing director with clients including the UK government communications office and Heinz.
Most recently he launched VCCP’s social media and experiential arm VCCP Share whose clients include Unilever and Compare The Market.
In a move that will boost BMF’s credentials in the telco sector, Stinton also spent nearly two years as marketing director of British mobile phone brand Talk Talk.
Stinton replaces Jeremy Nicholas who departed the Enero agency last month.
Mumbrella understands that Stinton will not start for some time as he will be relocating his family. Enero boss Melhuish will continue to caretake the agency in the meantime.
Stinton will inherit an agency seen by many as in need of reinvigoration. Nearly two years ago, BMF topped the Mumbrella Creative Agency Review. But since then there have been significant personnel changes and it also lost major client CommBank.
Melhuish said: “Dominic has a terrific pedigree from some world-class agencies, he brings a wealth of experience, an entrepreneurial spirit, and an integrated approach which makes him a great fit for BMF. Warren Brown and myself both met at BBH London and spent six years and five years there respectively, so it is great to have that background in common with Dom. We’re looking forward to welcoming him to Australia and the BMF family.”
Stinton said: “In my career I have been fortunate to work at some of the industry’s best agencies and I believe BMF ranks as a world class agency. The fact that it happens to be based in Australia is an added bonus.”
“A world class agency that just happens to be based in Australia.”
Now where have I heard that before?
Looks like B & M are well and truly back.

Stinton has bought into the old mantra. If it was true in 2004, is it still true today? Maybe it will be true again soon… Let’s hope so.
