International speaker James Stirling has joined the lineup for Mumbrella360 2022, alongside senior leaders from MediaCom, IAB Australia and Green Collar.

James Stirling

Set to take place on 20-21 July, Mumbrella360 will see UK-based Stirling retrace his journey from heading BBC Music to driving the iconic broadcaster’s centenary celebrations in an exclusive presentation. The event will mark Mumbrella360’s eagerly-awaited return to the stage since 2019.

Discussing the pressures of operating under the world’s spotlight, including leading the BBC’s programming during the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, Stirling will examine and explore the opportunities of recognising and utilising key cultural moments in order to develop brand reputations.

L-R: Minsun Collier and Karleitia Bodlovic

Meanwhile, MediaCom’s Minsun Collier and Karleitia Bodlovic will present an adland spin-off of a classic title, ‘How to Lose a Customer in 10 Days’. Re-examining the processes in the marketing funnel, the duo will recentre the importance of customer support post-transaction, considering the significant resources that businesses tend to put in customer acquisition pre-transaction. Following a challenging couple of years ridden with uncertainties for brands, Collier and Bodlovic will discuss how to boost customer retention rate in the long term.

L-R: Jonas Jaanimagi and Sarah Waladan

Led by Jonas Jaanimagi and Sarah Waladan, technology lead and director of policy and regulatory affairs at IAB Australia, Mumbrella360 also presents a new Masterclass on how marketers can navigate through privacy regulation changes and technical limitations. Highlighting potential business considerations of building information strategies, the duo will discuss how marketers can continue to utilise data with regulatory compliance in mind.

In addition, GreenCollar’s head of marketing, Susan Horn, will present a new research on how (or whether) brands’ sustainability messages are translating to changes in consumer behaviours. Conducted with more than 2,000 Australians, the research suggests that many consumers are finding it difficult to recognise how their daily habits are impacting carbon emissions, while only a quarter consider sustainability while making a purchase. The session will discuss how brands could identify what it takes for a behavioural shift in their audience and be inspiring with their message.

The new speakers join Peter Sloterdyk, former chief marketing and technology officer at Koala, and Dr Norman Swan, co-host of The Health Report at ABC Radio National and co-founder of Tonic Media Network, on the Mumbrella360 program, as well as industry leaders from ARN, WE Communications and Village Cinema.

More speakers will be announced over the coming weeks.

Mumbrella360, Australia’s largest media and marketing conference, will take place at the Hilton Hotel on 20-21 July. Early bird tickets are on sale now.
