New members for ABC, SBS boards
The Government has appointed Cheryl Bart to the board of the ABC, and Bulent Dellal to SBS.
Both appointments are for a period of five years, starting on June 3, 2010.
Under the current merit-based appointment process, positions are advertised nationally and all candidates are subject to an assessment process.
Minister Stephen Conroy said that Bart’s record of public service is “exceptional”, while Dellal’s understanding of Australia’s multicultural society is “comprehensive” and therefore a good match for the needs of the SBS audience.
Robert Cronin was also reappointed to the SBS board for two years from June 14.
